On April 22, 2017 the EOC was activated for an ARES SET exercise. Coordinated by Bob Pine the exercise was initiated by a county automatic texting system to ARES members. Based on the efforts of Club members (Primarily Rick Franklin, Chris Sorensen and Ed Gallup) a new digipeater was built and installed at the recently acquired Glenada Tower Site. The new digipeater extended digital packet data capacity to outlying areas of Mapleton and Dunes City, a major improvement and secondary means of communication not reliant on the Herman Peak repeater site.
